Boston Qualifier
The certified USATF A1A Marathon course is a Boston Qualifier! This fast, flat course is a great way to earn your spot in one of the country’s greatest races.

Cancellation Policy
Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Sorry, no exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. To transfer your entry to the following year, please complete the transfer request form and send the form, along payment ($20) before 2/22/09. All forms received after 2/22/09 will not be accepted. Registrations for the 2009 race can be transferred to the 2010 race only.
Corral Start
The A1A Marathon and Half Marathon will feature a corral start based on your bib number. Walkers should position themselves at the end of the corral.
Divisions/Awards
The A1A Full Marathon will consist of male/female main field division (age group), male/female wheelchair division, and a male/female hand cycle division. The Half Marathon will consist of a male/female main field division only. Age groups will span 5 years (i.e. 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc.) Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each division. There will also be separate awards for athletes competing in the visually impaired division.
Finish Line Refreshment
Fresh fruit, bagels, water, energy drinks, and other replenishing snacks will be provided upon completion of the race.
Gear Check
Need a place to put your dry clothes or car keys? Simply drop your items in the race bag you receive at the Health & Fitness Expo and drop the bag at the starting line. All bags will be transported to the finish line where they will be waiting for you.
*Make sure to fill out and attach your gear check stub located on your race bib
Group & Military Discounts
The A1A Marathon would like to extend a thank you to all active and former military personnel. The registration price for the Half Marathon is $25 and the price for the Full Marathon is $45. To register, please fill out and mail or fax the attached application, along with a photo copy of your military ID. Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon also offers group discounts based on group size, for more information please contact a1amarathon@exclusivesports.com.
Medical Tent
The main medical tent will be positioned at the finish line. Medical stations will be positioned along the race course if you should need assistance during the race.
Pace Teams
Need a little help keeping your pace? We have extended some help. Look for the Pace Teams at the Expo and at the start of the race. These athletes will help your finish the race in your desired time.

Port-o-lets
Port-o-lets will be positioned at the start of the race, along the race course (near water stops), and at the finish line.
Post Race Massage
The American Institute School of Massage will once again be the official massage team of the A1A Marathon for 2009. The American Institute is one of the leading schools of massage therapy in Florida and has been in existence for over 25 years. Located at 416 E. Atlantic Blvd., Pompano Beach, FL the school provides an array of services to the public at discounted prices including massage therapy, skincare, hair styling, manicures and pedicures. Be sure to visit our booth at the Expo to receive more information and a complimentary chair massage. For all race participants on the day of the big event, be sure to come by the massage tent for your complimentary table massage after crossing the finish line!
Race Day Weather
Last year there was a low temperature of 51°F and a high of 65°F According to the wunderground.com, temperatures for that weekend in Fort Lauderdale are stunning with an average high of 77 °F / 25 °C and a low of 60 °F / 14 °C. The humidity on this date averages out to 64%, with the sunrise at 6:53am Eastern.
Race Refreshment
Plenty of water and energy drink will be provided at every mile along the race course (beginning at mile 2). Energy gels will be provided at the half marathon and full marathon turnarounds.
Race Shirt & Finisher’s Medal
Every participant will receive a 2009 race shirt (at Expo) and a unique full/half marathon finisher’s medal upon completion of the race.
Visually Impaired Athletes
The Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon is pairing up with the C-different organization to feature a blind athlete division.
