Where/When does the race start?
Answer: The A1A Marathon will start with a bang promptly at 6:00 AM on February 22nd, 2009 in downtown Fort Lauderdale (600 Himmarshee St.). The start will be a wave start with both the full and half marathoners starting at the same time. The Wheel chair racers will start five minutes before the main field.

How long will the course be open?
Answer: The Course will be open for six hours for both the half and full marathon.

Where is the turn around for the half marathon?
Answer: The turn around for the half marathon will be just past Oakland Park Ave. Our course Certifier put the turn around at NE 36th St.

Is this Course a qualifier for the Boston Marathon?
Answer: The A1A Marathon is now a certified course. This means that if you run a time that qualifies you for the Boston Marathon at the A1A Marathon then your time counts! Certification Number: Full Marathon: FL07008DL Half Marathon: FL07009DL

Are there any group discounts available?
Answer: Group discounts are available on quantity basis, if your organization would like to inquire about this benefit please contact us with your organization and how many members will be participating in the half and the full so we can lay out a proper discount plan.

What is the Elevation for the course?
Answer:The course elevation is flatter than a pancake! Sea level the entire way! Well to be fair you do have to cross one moderate bridge which counts as a hill, sort of. The Las Olas Bridge rises about 20 feet in the air and is just before mile 3 on the course.

Is there a walkers division?
Answer: Walkers are all welcome to take part in our half marathon. We are not holding aspecific walkers division, so please enter the appropriate age division for the half marathon when you register as an athlete.

Does the half marathon receive a finisher's medal as well?
Answer:Both the full and the half marathon have finishers medals that we think are fantastic, and we think that you will agree.

How Many Participants does the A1A Marathon expect to participate?
Answer: We are capping the registration for the A1A Marathon and Half Marathon at 6,000 athletes in order to guarantee a quality race. We feel that this size race is a great way to ensure that we can provide the best experience possible!

I cannot make it to the Expo, can I have my packet mailed to me, can my friend pick it up or can I pick it up on race day?
Answer:No, participants must pick up their race packets at the Expo on Friday, February 20th or Saturday, February 21st and proper Photo ID must be shown. Sorry, no exceptions.

I signed up for the Full Marathon, but I want to run the Half, what should I do?
Answer: We understand that people change their minds and we have no problem with that. We would be happy to change your division, however, we cannot offer you a refund. To change your division please email: katie@exclusivesports.com.
I signed up for the Half Marathon, but now I think I want to do the Full?
Answer: Because there is a difference in race price, you will be asked to pay the difference, but changing races is not a problem. Please contact katie@exclusivesports.com to make the switch. 

How old do you have to be to compete in the Full/Half Marathon?
Answer: You must be at least 18 years of age as of 2/22/09 to compete in the full marathon, and must be at least 16 years of age as of 2/22/09to compete in the half marathon.

Are baby strollers/joggers allowed on the course?

Answer: NO.  In order to ensure the safety of all our participants and provide a fair race to everyone, baby strollers/joggers are not permitted on the race course.

Can I wear my ipod during the race?
Answer: USATF Rule 144.3(b): The visible possession or use by athletes of video or audio cassette recorders or players, TV's, CD or DVD players, radio transmitters or receivers, mobile phones, computers, or any similar devices in the competition area shall not be permitted.

Answer: : According to the wunderground.com, temperatures for that weekend in Fort Lauderdale are stunning with an average high of 77 °F / 25 °C and a low of 60 °F / 14 °C. The humidity on this date averages out to 64%, with the sunrise at 6:53am Eastern.
